No, I suspect you might be right. At least on some of them.

That is part of the Syrian Kurd connection. I’ve seen elements supporting them. The PKK did have that background in the distant past.

I’m still scratching my head how they (PKK) could have financed an armed insurrection so many years. I’ve heard accusations of fringe drug trafficking, not sure I buy that.

I know some of the Syrian Kurds very well. Good people. There are some taboo subjects they are not allowed to talk about. I’m sure our Special Ops understand totally, their comfort level both ways is excellent.

it’s a mix of strong central government and strong autonomous regions

imagine a country where every state thinks it’s Texas and the Feds think they are in charge of it all and then add in 3 major parties & a dozen minor

You’re welcome, but I admit I may be mistaken.

We approach the first wave of desertion within the EU. It is totally due to insane arrogant dictatorial leadership in Brussels.

Unfortunately, most advocates of Catalonian independence are Pro-EU. They want independence from Spain, not a break with the European Union (much like the advocates of Scottish independence in the UK). It basically makes their so-called nationalism meaningless.

I never cared for Hemingway. Liked B. Traven much better.

The referendum in Catalonia and the Spanish government’s (and the EU’s) reaction to it, seen along side a total lack of concern about the Muslim invasion, reveal as nothing else can the agenda of the global elites.
