"Respecting" = "With respect to" = Regarding" = "with regard to" = "Concerning".

IOW, Congress shall make no law concerning an establishment of religion

Bottom line: Government should keep its nose out of the subject of religion.

~~~~~~~~~
Hey, FFRF: Shove THAT up your long nose you keep sticking in places where it doesn't belong!
Exactly right! The Establishment clause is a restriction on the Federal Government not the States. It was intended by the Framers to keep the official religions of the States safe from Federal interference. Leftist judges have deliberately gotten this wrong for many years.
Cross on a seal is not establishing a religion. Idiot judge.
Seemingly a traitor to his PA community — an area not far from Bethlehem where you’ll see a Cross beaming from a mountaintop.
Lehigh Valley is a beautiful, growing region. Serious growth in warehousing and trucking. Big investments by Amazon.
FFRF is a Marxist group defying the 1st Amendment. And this jackass is facilitating it. Defy his ruling.
Precisely. What the Congress could not do, the Supreme Court did -- made a ruling "respecting religion" and "restricting the free exercise thereof."
And as another freeper pointed out the first amendment was intended to protect State establishments from Federal infringement. Instead, the Court turned the first amendment on its head using the 14th amendment as an excuse. These later Court rulings from 1962 onward have all been consistently "unconstitutional". There is really no other word for it.
The Constitution is NOT necessarily what the Court says it is. It is what it is.
following the rule of constitutional law, including the establishment clause, which states that Congress may not pass any laws establishing a religion
1) Progress (see My Tagline) made no Law here.
2) nor did they make the County Seal in question.
3) I see no "Religion Established" here.
4) THIS judge IS A MORONIC JACKASS!!!
And given the opportunity to I would tell him this to his face or ass! (Same thing)
That is the main intersection in the downtown, right by the county building. That judge does not know what he is talking about.
The judge said, “The law, as it currently stands, requires that the court rule in favor of the plaintiffs:"
Only Congress can "make laws". That "judge" has nowhere to stand... '-)
You’re right, it’s not in the Constitution.
They should replace it with a fish or surround it with a crown of thorns just to tweak the SOBs.
No one from the FFRF even lives or votes there so what business is it of theirs?
What is it about that seal that violates the Constitutional provision that “Congress shall make no law...” There is no provision that prohibits counties from anything other than infringing on the RKBA.
