I most reluctantly must say Joe Biden was right. Iraq is an artificial nation with boundaries drawn up mostly by British and some American influence many years ago. The boundaries had nothing to do with ethnics and religions by region. These artificial boundaries insured a totally unstable nation.

Iraq should have been three nation states which would have been Sunni, Shiite and Kurd.

The British knew exactly what they were doing, and Iraq as comprised, with a Hashemite king, served their interests as of 1921.

The more I read, the more it looks like we are going to support the Turks, Iranians, and Baghdad screwing over the Kurds. The fact that Baghdad is cozying up to Iran is the icing on the cake.

I remember watching him on Jim Lehrer and saying this. I don’t know if that would have kept the peace or not. The Kurds seem to be the ones everyone wants to get. Turkey, Saddam, etc...

Maybe this independence movement can take hold. Some in Congress support it.

Whatever America decides to do, Israel supports Kurdistan. And whatever the Turks, Iranians, et al. decide to do about the Iraqi Kurds, they have to watch their backs from their own Kurds, who can get awful disgruntled over mistreating Kurds elsewhere. It’s like the medieval adage about English kings wishing to war with France having to beware of Scotland. I’m for a Greater Kurdistan, myself. EMA marches on.

Where did San Juan’s mayor get that custom-printed ‘Help Us’ shirt anyway?..where does one get a shirt like this made when Puerto Rico is under water and out of power?

In reality Iran has taken over Iraq and dominates it’s politics. An obama/clinton failure now coming home to roost. This joint exercise comes as no surprise.

“Iraq should have been three nation states which would have been Sunni, Shiite and Kurd.”

Yep. Those of us that were mobilized for Gulf War I, Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm said this from the git-go!

If Iraq was divided along tribal lines, things would settle down. Of course, they’d still fight among themselves, but WE wouldn’t need to waste American Blood & Treasure on these goat herders.

And that was TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS AGO.

Nobody ever listens to me!

The Iraqi petroleum company, shared by British Petroleum, Shell, Mobil and Standard Oil of New Jersey.

This was post WWI. It was the “seven sisters” and oil which decided the fate of Iraq and made it an impossible nation. The seeds of discord were planted almost 100 years ago.

“In reality Iran has taken over Iraq and dominates its politics.”

Since Iraq has the only Shiite majority outside of Iran, with a major Shiite shrine in Karbalah (where men slash theirs’ & their sons’ chests over a sectarian murder from 1,400 years ago) that is certainly likely to be the case.

Bloody savages!

holding joint war games with Iraq
That's a misnomer, since there is no independent Iraq, it's a puppet state of Iran's. Thanks Eleutheria5.

Michael Savage has said from the beginning that Iraq was an epic military blunder by W. By getting rid of Sadaam you basically are giving Iraq to Iran.
