President Trump on Saturday criticized Puerto Rico's "poor leadership" and defended his administration's response to the aftermath of Hurricane Maria's devastation on the island. Following a plea for aid by San Juan's mayor, Trump said the mayor was being "nasty."
"The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump," Trump tweeted. "Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help."
"They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort," he continued. "10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job."

This has always been PR’s mantra. All of the do-ers went to the US decades ago. Lazy layabouts, criminals and doofusses is what is PR today. New Orleans with better beaches.
No he has not.
I watched him one morning going after Trump for, as I paraphrase "that stupid alien law, transsexuals out of the military when not one general complained, his stupid tweets." NO HE DOES NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard this Mayor speaking before the storm hit.....she was already complaining.......this entire thing was way over her ability to handle, she doesn't have the grey matter to do her job.
Hmmmmmm.
Ok.
can’t heat up a Hot Pocket?
Man, that’s a real tragedy.
What really pisses me off is, this unhinged far left mayor is using the suffering of her people to push her anti Trump agenda. The last thing she is worried about is the suffering of her people. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if she is deliberately sabotaging federal efforts, after getting the memo from Schumer/Pelosi when she first of all praised Trump for an outstanding performance.
Move them all to NYC, let de Blasio have them. Buy up the island, level and the trash the cesspool, build us a new state...
No he has not.

Well, yes he has. If you saw him attacking Trump one morning, then you saw one of the instances where he differed with him. Most of the time I’ve seen him, however, he’s been on Trump’s side (including this morning, when he refused to get on the “blame Trump for Puerto Rico’s problems” bandwagon).
They want everything to be done for them
This reminds me of the time when Detroit had a big snow storm and while residents of many suburban localities were banding together, picking up snow shovels and clearing their own streets, Detroiters were standing in hip deep snow, saying nobody came to plow us out...complaining like the do nothings in Puerto Rico?
Well I get no joy out of arguing with you.
I stand by my assertion that Geraldo is comfy with the GOPe.
You can’t dismiss that rant he went on that I heard with my lying ears as “one of the instances where he differed with Trump.”
I call it a Freudian slip and I stand by my charge.
You may have the last word of this stupid argument. I am done.

Thanks for that post. I just printed it off to show any liberal who starts mouthing off about Trumps response!
Yes!
I feel for them, but they need to learn to be more independent.
Apparently, the PR truck driving union thugs are refusing to allow material to be unloaded and delivered.
I agree, but the Carribbean has been impoverished and corrupt for centuries. I wouldn’t know where to begin to right all that’s wrong.
The Puerto Rico truck driving thugs are not handling what the people need.

That she would support statehood to further personal political ambitions might be a stretch as she is PDP the party that supports maintaining status quo in PR and is opposed to statehood. The current governor is PNP that is the statehood party for he supports the DEMs in US terms. Ms mayor sure is showing she was well indoctrinated at Boston College
If every Puerto Rican lived in a T Shirt Factory they would obviously be doing very well despite the Hurricane.
