Their message of social injustice = racist cops.

"That's it. You're nothing to me now."

The message is not lost.
They are white hating bigots who have no respect for the American Armed Forces and veterans.
Going down to a one knee position then standing is just more in your face America hating.

I confess that I had to ask on a thread yesterday, because I had completely lost track of why they were doing it.

Even if you accept that they have a grievance about police brutality, they went about this totally wrong. Using the national anthem as the time to express their views is an insult to millions of Americans, many of whom might have otherwise agree wit them. Really stupid. But then we’re not talking about a group of brain surgeons here.

Hell, for all most of us care they can protest whenever they want to and the NFL lets them, as long as it’s not during the anthem! Maybe the NFL will give them the whole halftime to piss and moan, who cares? That’s up to the NFL. Of course they have every right to protest during the anthem if they wish, it’s just counterproductive to their own interests. The owners and NFL are either idiots or ideologues of they fail to see that and correct it.

More than 200 players either knelt or used other means as expressions of unity last weekend. Lockhart said such actions are not a protest against the anthem or the flag.

Clearly, to the NFL and players, political grievances and activism are MORE important than playing football. Sad for all the fans who invested in tickets and gear.

The protests from the millionaire athletes is about CK not getting to play and about black jobs in the league and about a lot of other non-police issues.

And the NFL wrnt slong with the knee stunt because for months now black athletes and activists were threatening to boycott the season.

So because the NFL surrendered to the whims of one political class ghey got a boycott from another political class.

I always was lead to believe by standing and placing my
right hand over my heart I was showing allegiance and unity
with all my fellow patriotic Americans? Who knew I've been
doing it wrong 50-plus years

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game

and then when they throw a fit over what Trump says - it blows up in their face and just makes them madder when he says the next thing. But what he says, rational people, not people drunk on some kind of illogical ideology, totally agree with it.

Agree. And the arm-linking and whatever other variations on the theme they may try as an alternative to kneeling are just as disrespectful if they are done during the anthem, because that is what they are intended to be.

Standing quietly, arms at the side, or preferably saluting the flag are the only two postures that signify respect during the national anthem. Anything else - disrespect. Because that is exactly why they do it.

Oh, I get it.....they hate the COPS, not the TROOPS.

Thanks, Mr. Lockhart, for setting me straight on that.

I do not know what the owners are thinking Jerry Jones for one...kneeling like that. Was going to watch the Cowboys until he did that.

Maybe they are like those in congress...surrounded by everything but reality?

They can’t take responsibility of not committing crimes. They can’t take responsibility for their babies by multiple baby mamas. What makes anyone think they will take responsibility for a clear and concise message? The flag they’re disrespecting gives them the freedom to express any message they want, just not on my time. I am free to take the Titan’s, Delanie Walker’s advice to tell them bye! America’s great like that, huh.
