Millions more will pay no tax.

Yep. Mitt Romney's 47% will be 57% or 67% before long.

Ditto that, when I read the headline, I immediately thought-define middle class.

Remember Obama talking about making millionaires and billionaires pay more, but then the cutoff was 250,000. He also talked about Buffett as if his plan would make Buffet pay more. Reality was Buffett always limited his actual wages to 100,000, so the Buffett plan did Nada for his taxable income.

If they really want the rich to pay more, they should go after the investment loopholes that allow Buffet and others to have lots of cash and perks without paying taxes on it. Also they could discuss taxes on wealth.

But in reality, those people will just move their money to a place to avoid taxes.

20 years ago, when hubby and I were still working, I noticed that people making 100,000 were in the upper 5% - we never got to that category.

Using 55,000 seems a bit low for middle class to me given inflation since then.

I say repeal the amendment - income taxes are immoral, and should be illegal. Same with property taxes.

I’ll just say that I have really never had a tax cut for the middle class do anything other than reduce my net income.

Doubling the deduction and I thought I heard about an increase in the child tax credit. So yes, lots more paying zero or getting paid.

For the children, well not your children. Not mine either.

Thank you for your informative response.

Maybe writing a letter to the editor before an election can help convince some to vote if we mention a specific issue that conservatives care about.

The ONLY tactic that will work to convince your Representative and both Senators to support the FAIRtax is one of intimidation.

Somehow, someway, we have to convince our Representatives and Senators that a sure path to their re-election is to actively support the FAIRtax!

They UNDERSTAND NOT GETTING RE-ELECTED!

In order to do that, we have to convince a large-enough number of people and form a MASSIVE grass roots movement in each Congressional District. Several thousand in each district should do the trick.

So, become a FAIRtax activist - get involved and educate and inform your FRiends, neighbors, relatives and business associates about H.R.25 and S.18.

When they are on board, have them do the same for their FRiends, neighbors, relatives and business associates.

That is a grass roots movement, and it is the most powerful movement in politics!

We can do this, but we need your help.
