Seems to me Trump had to support Strange, because he has voted with Trump.
Trump promised to campaign for Moore. Should be some great rallies.

Trump knew exactly what he was doing. Strange was not going to win, so why not throw Mcconnell a bone? Now McC owes him a YUUUGE one.
I have had my suspicions about what DJT was doing throughout this one, and while I don't think he was playing 3-D (let alone 4-, 5-, and 6-D) chess, I believe he knew exactly what he was doing, including any supposed "gaffes." The MSM can spin it all they want, but I think he's probably chuckling right now.

Trump did the smart thing strategically. He backed a sitting senator. A sitting senator who is a Trump backer! He also did not disparage Roy Moore in any way. This is called a win/win. Roy Moore will be strong Trump supporter as well!
Mitch is the next target. Corker melted and is gone.
