It sounds like if Strange doesn’t win, the Republicans will help the Democrat against Moore?
Trump needs to know he serves us and we back him. He doesn’t direct us.
4D chess. All Trump said was if Big Luther got elected he would be the tallest man in the Senate and he may have made a mistake. Wink. Wink.
Lord, please let it be so. I despise the campaign that McConnell has ran against Roy Moore and all the money spent against him. Mitch is the epitome of the establishment and he makes me want to barf. Ryan is no better.
Trumpinistas are too smart to fool with candidates who are not about MAGA.
I don’t think that Trump really wants Strange to win. I think that he is “backing” him as a way of currying favor wuth/support from the GOPe. I believe that he wants Moore, but doesn’t wish to say so.
Trump just pretended to help him, like McConnell pretends to help Trump.
Reminds me of the Soviet joke - They pretend to pay us, and we pretend to work.
Seems to me Trump knew this ahead of time and played it perfectly.
Can say he went to bat for Strange and Strange loses anyway.
Good.
Trump voters are smart enough to figure out who to vote for.
Those who are voting against Luther Strange because McConnell endorsed him are missing the point. As Trump pointed out in this weekend’s rally, Strange and McConnell have no history with one another. This is not a case of Strange being a McConnell lackey. This is an instance of McConnell trying to cultivate Strange to be one of his lackeys. Big difference. President Trump is fighting for Strange, a man who has supported him from the day he entered the senate, so that McConnell doesn’t get his hooks into him. If Strange wins because of president Trump’s endorsement, and in spite of McConnell’s, then president Trump will have prevented McConnell from using his support for Strange to extract loyalty from him.
People are totally missing what this is about. Yes, both McConnell and Trump are endorsing the same candidate, but they are opponents, battling for Strange’s loyalty. If Strange wins, because of Trump’s endorsement and in spite of McConnell’s he will owe McConnell nothing, and will know that with his continued support of Trump’s agenda, Trump will always have his back.
Moore will win big — maybe by 20.
A good solution to the dilemma of having two fine candidates seeking one office is for President Trump to nominate Sen. Strange to the vacant Homeland Security position.
After 7½ years, Senator Moore will be old enough to retire, and Mr. Strange can resume his senatorial career with an impressive Executive Branch service resume.
I heard that in a race against his Democrat opponent, Moore is doing considerably better than Strange is. So much for Trump’s claim that if Moore wins then the Democrats might take the seat.
Trump tristed Mitch McConnel on who to support, Mitch picked a swamp dweller.
Politics 101. The President should never have entered this primary fight. Jesus could have endorsed Strange and Moore still would have won. Never spend political capital on a losing fight.
Pres Trump appears to have forgotten the People
who chose him, again for McConnell and Ryan and Soros.
Americans’ anger and patriotism goes beyond even their allegiance to Trump. This tells me we’re not done by a longshot.
It’s been double digits for a while.
