A man arrested near the White House Sunday morning is a former Memphis police officer who had an arsenal of weapons in his car and believed the CIA had implanted a chip in his head, according to court documents.

Timothy J. Bates, 37, of Collierville, Tenn. appeared in a District of Columbia court Monday morning on charges of illegally carrying a rifle or shotgun.

According to court documents, Bates was approached by uniformed members of the Secret Service Sunday at the corner of 17th Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue as he appeared to be publicly urinating. He told the officers that he was trying to reach Defense Secretary Gen. James Mattis or NSA Director Adm. Mike Rogers “for advice on missing paychecks and how to get the dog chip out of my head.” […]

According to testimony by the arresting officers detailed in the court documents, Bates told the Secret Service officers that he had been offered $28.7 million by the Department of Homeland Security and the state of Tennessee to participate in the CIA’s “MK Ultra” program and that he had a chip planted in his head that was causing him “severe headaches, shaking and convulsions.” …

“How do we know that his claims are not true?”
We don’t, it’s like Liberal brains, you have to MRI them to prove that they have brains and, or chips.

I’ve had chips in my head too. Usually made of potatoes and very crunchy. Sometimes made of corn or even those “veggie” ones on occasion.

Yes, what is it about schizo’s that has them focus on government watching them?

I'd tell you but I'd have to jack you with Thorazine first!

My fish likes Goldfish crackers.
Seriously though, I watched a friend go nuts because of some kind of condition that I did not understand.
They had to tell me to just not visit him anymore because he would become so agitated.
That was a long time ago. Sad.
Funny guy to sad...that's me.

Maybe I'm Bi Polar?!

List? I thought it said rifle or shotgun. Talk about vague. I wonder if he had an ammo dump of 50 rounds or an abattoir of knives too? Hopefully he didn’t have a WMD arsenal can of Raid...

Ok, so he had a few. Why don’t these guys bury all but 2 or so when they go off the deep end. At least that would deny the government anti 2A crowing rights plus give us detectorists some extra cool stuff to dig up occasionally :-)

I hate to give AP an internet “hit,” but I just had to find out about the arsenal. This doesn’t meet my personal definition of an arsenal, but it is certainly more than I carry normally on a night out on the town, or even a trip out of state. The variety of weapons is interesting, but could cause problems with ammo logistics in a firefight.

Hey, maybe he did — but I really, really don’t want to find out for sure.
