Rams defensive lineman Ethan Westbrooks was arrested over the weekend in Kern County, California, for allegedly possessing a handgun that was not registered to him, ESPN confirmed Monday.
Westbrooks was initially pulled over for speeding Friday night, and the officer found a handgun inside the vehicle that was loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition. Records later revealed that the handgun was reported stolen in 2009.
Westbrooks was booked on five felony charges: receiving stolen property, carrying a loaded firearm, carrying a stolen loaded firearm, grand theft of a firearm and possessing a high-capacity magazine.
Westbrooks was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence in Sacramento, California, in March but was never charged.

The gun may have been in plain sight. All I know about the subject, I learned from watching COPS (so take what I type with a grain of salt), but in general, people who go to the trouble of acquiring illegal stolen handguns are usually engaged in dangerous lifestyle choices that may require having a gun ‘at the ready’ in the front seat of a car.
Westbrooks, 26, was initially stopped for speeding on Interstate 5 in Kern County, said Adam Taylor, public information officer for the California Highway Patrols Buttonwillow division.
An officer observed a handgun inside the car, and a records check indicated the gun had been stolen in 2009, Taylor said. The gun also was loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition, Taylor said.

Thank You, should have known espn wouldn’t be truthful
Yo Colin take a knee!
Guess this is more of the police racism that Kapernuts and the rest of the black players are supposedly protesting.
So now a stolen gun is one “not registered” to the possessor. Oh, right, the guys in the NFL.
“Thank You, should have known espn wouldnt be truthful”
ESPN and the Truth? It wouldn’t fit their liberal agenda!
LOL
I was trying to see if he had ever been convicted of something that would prevent him from having a legal firearm. I didn’t see anything. Stupid. I’m guessing with all the rules in California you can’t just buy a gun from a stranger like you can do in many states. So the “I didn’t know it was stolen” excuse is harder to use.
Receiving stolen property: Legitimate charge.
Carrying a loaded firearm: Charge is unconstitutional.
Carrying a stolen loaded firearm: Weird charge, but legit. Sort of.
Grand theft of a firearm: Legitimate charge.
Possessing a "high capacity" magazine: Charge is unconstitutional.
I am sure the racist nation made him do it. Or racist Trump. Definitely worth a squat on the knee.
You probably dont have unkept hair, ratty excuse for a beard, and a stupid tattoo on your face.
Dead eyes in front of a dead brain.
And you want people to support thugs like this, Goodell?
Take the log out of your own eye first
#Goodbye Goodell......let’s move to run this SOB out of office
Yes, I said it . . SOB
you do have a point there, cops don’t even look at me and I pull Illegal U turns and Park Illegally in Red ZOnes and in front of Court Houses No Parking zones in Downtown LA to make phone calls all the time, right in Front of the Police and Parking enforcement in my Work Truck. They see me on my phone and ignore me since I am pulled over, regardless of whether it is legal or not.
The kid that works for me gets pulled over for being a kid!!
Another low life thug.
dumbass.
He’s probably got some money (before this, I mean) so there was no doubt a group of floozies (is that the correct spelling?) who went after him......
