Well then what was the intent?
It seems pretty clear to most Americans. You had one player who had the courage to do what was right.
I wonder how your season ticket sales for next year will go.
Hey Ben,
Bite me jerk face
And to come out to all the players and other employees with a statement that disrespect of our National Anthem and flag will not be tolerated, and will be a firing offense.
Steelers WERE one of my three teams I cheered for before last year...
Ben went with a group of us on a biker rally one time when I lived in PA. nice guy, his wife is great...to bad Ben, you lost me and so did the Packers and Broncos...
Once the gel is out of the tube it can’t be put back in again...
However by remaining in the tunnel they did exactly that, spineless wimps, had to be shown up by a real American. He didn't care if he were one - he did it anyway. The rest of the steelers just cowered in the tunnel. The 'iron curtain' has become a satin slip
IOW, the one MAN on the team - Alejandro Villanueava - embarrassed the hell out of the collection of moral midgets known as the Steelers. Good, very good - now take that lesson and figure out how your bread is buttered by those you insulted and hope some portion return as fans so you can keep playing a GAME for a living.
Maybe when the president is correct, they should show Unity As Americans and not just as members of a single football team.
I hope Tomlin is so angry that he trades Alejandro to the Bears. They could use an All-Pro Left Tackle.
The Bears all stood at attention during the anthem yesterday.
NFL = Negro Felon’s League!
Actually Ben does not have that many endorsement deals. His little misadventure in Georgia years ago pretty much put the kibosh on those.
Man never did recover from that bike wreck.
“I appreciate the unique diversity...” So diversity is what he was honoring? Diversity of what? Maybe if we kill off the NFL we will prevent the further waste of human minds.
Bull. He just stated, in a very public way, that he has no respect for our veterans, our anthem nor our nation. He may regret revealing that to us, but don’t believe for one minute that the backlash has suddenly reversed his inner beliefs.
I officially recommend The Pittsburg Steelers be renamed the Pittsburg Kneelers.
Guess the PR guys are in full-blown freak-out mode over the thought of the Stillers getting booed by their own fans next Sunday. It’s one thing to hide in the tunnel as the visitng team. Quite another to pull such a stunt in front of your own fans in a rust-belt city such as Pittsburgh.
You only had one shot and you blew it! Say goodbye to your million dollar contract this is something you will always be remembered for! Football fans have looooooooooooooooong memories!!
>> I’m sure Tomlin would have preferred to have every player standing
When good men fail to take stand?
Because standing for the Anthem is so incredibly difficult — the ultimate sacrifice.
Visions of a certain player haunting him ...
There was an ESPN article that came out about a month before CK started taking knees. The article lamented the fact that more pro athletes did not speak out concerning social issues. Suddenly, here we are.
