If it hadn’t been for AMERICAN football and the wages for these men to run around 100 yards chasing an odd shaped ball, where would these men be and what would they be doing???????

“Our statement,’’ one team leader told me on the eve of tonight’s nationally-televised Cowboys-at-Cardinals game, “will be a statement of unity.’’

Unity? Within what? Team or country?

It's academic anyway for me. Not a down, not a dime.

ESPN? I won’t be watching. I don’t even get ESPN. Dropped cable years ago. If it’s not over antenna, I don’t see it.

They are like the rest.

Absolutely no difference at all.

Feckless cowards.

Of course any and every owner could fire each and every player who takes a knee and do so on the first offence.

They won’t because they are OK with it.

Unity with each other in defiance of the Military, Flag, and Country...

Dallas Cowards don’t have the courage to suck it up and respect the Anthem and what it stands for... or do they, we’ll see...

I don’t think they can fire them but maybe letting them kneel while watching the game from the sidelines?

Anyone planning to buy the Villanueva jersey, I recommend buying his West Point Black Knight jersey #82. That way the NCAA gets the money not the NFL. Better yet go to the West Point site and support ARMY (sorry Navy)

What are the rules?

Stand for the flag? Then do it or else be fired.

If there’s no rule, then do whatever you want,

at you own peril.

“A football team that knows they better do what the boss says and will be out there tonight supporting America.”

The hell they will.

And if YOU were a true patriot you would not turn it on to find out.

We ARE the boss....without us, they are nothing. And they are about to find that out the hard way.

Good suggestion. I want to support this guy but I don’t want any money going to NFL.

“There is no easy answer.”

I didn't say that. Go back and read what I posted.

I don’t think they can fire them

Why not? It's a private company.

Just think about ALL THE MONEY the WORKING American’s taxes have been used to build the stadiums for these ungrateful
pampered, weak kneed, over paid, jokers to play in once a week. I don’t watch football, except for the TX Aggies and sometimes the Cowboys. I still resent the money spent on stadiums the million dollar spoiled, protected boys use. I
don’t think we taxpayers should ever again allow the nfl to use our money for their benefit. Then the members in the audience must pay, How Much, for a ticket, then How Much for anything to drink? Their tax money paid for the place.

“I don’t think they can fire them”

Of course they can. They can fire them for beating up their wife, for drug use, for robbing the corner gas station etc. They can DEFINITELY fire them for an action they take while in uniform on nationwide TV.

Obtain knowledge.

Rights? Rights?!

This isn't about "rights" ... it's about respect, it's about gratitude, it's about who's running things in the NFL, the owners or their employees?

None of this has anything to do with the "right" of people, even the pampered millionaies of the NFL, to peacefully protest.

What is the NFL rule regarding the national anthem?
Yeah, I thought so.
Follow it.

I have always been against taxpayers funding stadiums for billionaire owners of millionaire players.

Now I am enraged by it.
