Good grief .LA is a poor state. Its taxpayers deserve a tax cut if the state has these extra millions to spend on welfare for the man who makes billions as one of the biggest car dealers in the country. How does this happen?
Corruption, pure and simple.
Why is Louisiana paying 400 million dollars to one man to keep his teams there....oh man cut the bleeding already. 400 million could do a lot to fix New Orleans levee systems for example!
Many/most times, citizens vote to approve stadium funding because they get frightened into thinking their city will be second-rate without a sports team(s).
Bread and circuses. Entertainment for the masses is an important state priority. That said, I suspect that dropping the cost of duck stamps and fishing licenses would fill any void left by football.
