NFL players across the league knelt, locked arms and even refused to come out of the locker room during the national anthem Sunday. They were joined by coaches and even owners.
It is believed to be in response to President Donald Trump's comments and tweets this week on protests during the anthem.

That's exactly what they want.
“Watching sports is a powerful social drug.”
True as it goes, but that means I am drug-free.

Not true. The First Amendment is a restriction on government action and that's it. There is no Constitutional right to freedom of speech in connection with a private enterprise. The job of football players is to put as many asses in seats and eyeballs on screens as they possibly can. That's how the team owner makes money on the player. If a player pisses off half the fans by making political tweets on their free time it has the potential to affect the owner's bottom line. The owners are absolutely able to prohibit such behavior whether on or off the field and if I were an owner I would make sure that language was included in their contracts.
Excellent, my good FRiend, good on ya’!
Can you be a citizen of a nation if you refuse to recite a pledge to it?
It’s time to define them as they are. Anti American.
Have you stopped paying ESPN? Cut the cable, call tomorrow.
Also applies to anyone who has cable TV.
As long as you are paying for ESPN, it won't matter.
Wasn't Goodell recently trying to financially blackmail Texas into not passing religious freedom protection? The NFL is anti American and has been for a while.
Wonder how well the next city to be shaken down for a new stadium will respond.
I never had ESPN, heh heh....
If the fans had any balls; they would completely empty the stadium.
Good point(s).
With the NFL choosing a side - the wrong side, to be certain - they are inadvertently casting off their mantle of good, clean, All-American fun played by charity-minded pillars of the community.
It will be much harder for them to play the White Hatted Hero when they are extorting cities for new stadiums etc.
A good recent book to read is ‘NFL Confidential’ by one Johnny Anonymous. Johnny (a pseudonym of course) is a white journeyman offensive lineman bouncing between clubs trying make weight (more, not less), dealing with unhinged assistant coaches who also fear the sack, and dealing with the wide variety of personalities, backgrounds, etc. in a locker room despite the relatively small number of players on a roster.
He doesn’t dwell on it but ‘Johnny’ notes that militant black players are often militant for reasons they themselves can’t explain. They are expected to have a chip on their shoulder so they play the part despite not having a clue about politics, government or life in general due to their long-term cloistered existence as elite jocks. ‘Johnny’ openly mocks them but usually in subtle ways that they fail to notice.
The biggest problem with the current situation is that nobody will sit these players down and ask them tough, detailed questions about their motives in order to ascertain their knowledge of facts. No doubt the amount of ignorance would undermine their cause so media types are keeping them at arm’s length and, as usual, relying on visuals rather than reporting.
You are lucky. Disney has strong-armed most cable companies into paying the $6 or so ESPN tax per subscriber whether they watch ESPN or not.
Kap is a pretty ugly guy. Without playing in the NFL, his ugly mug would have zero chance, with her. She is using him for her muzzie and anti-America agenda.... Without some athletic ability, he is a big time loser that couldn’t find a half way attractive girlfriend.
Unfortunately, ESPN is on all cable and satellite packages and I haven’t pulled that plug yet. However, never watch it and when many don’t watch, it effects ratings which relates to reduced income from advertisers which ESPN relies on. So, while not perfect, it does have an affect.
ESPN is Disney. Plenty of ways to avoid that hostile operation.
People refuse to make the connection to the few major corporations totally screwing the Country.
