Ouch--disturbing to learn your garbage is left putrefying at the curb.

We're still waiting for the storm yard waste to be hauled away. At this point, anyone tossing a lit match or cigarette could burn down whole neighborhoods with the mountains of dried vegetation piled alongside the roads.

I guess I should refine that a little. Garbage pick-up is as good as ever. It's the hundreds of refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, all lined up in a row, thousands of huge trees cut into firewood, huge pieces of homes, business that didn't make the storm, all lined up roadside.

To the credit of Scott/Trump it's being done at warp speed. But, just seeing how tough this srorm really was and knowing that we lost 1,000 hotel rooms in Islamorada alone for 6-12 months is a super realization of just how strong this storm was.

And people, businesses got hit from Key West to North Fla. Irma was an equal opportunity storm. Kicked everyone as hard as she could.
