I see your point, but this was one man punching another who is not allowed to punch back. If the principal had laid a finger on the lad, he would have been fired.

This wasn’t a “common fist fight”. The Principal was cold cocked — he never hit back. This was assault and battery, plain and simple — and, yes, people should be locked up for that.
