You don't know that and it actually goes against common sense. Yes, I know leftists have no common sense, and there are those who use animal rights as an excuse to control people just like the EPA does but we can't just do nothing. That's worse than the risk of those would would abuse the laws.
People sometimes confuse having smaller government with no government. One is a civil society of laws and rules; the other is anarchy. The goal is to keep things as lean and efficient as possible. It's a shame when common decency has to be mandated because there are so many who abuse the privilege of being considered a human. Maybe that needs to change; human status. I guess we already do that with felons who no longer have all the rights a non felon has. Maybe we need to take it up a notch.
As the world devolves and over populates; something will have to give. Human status may be the one thing to get the attention of those considering certain crimes. Hurt someone; lose humanity points. Lose enough points and the person is no longer a person. Just spit balling here but things will get worse. What then?
The world is not overpopulated nor is it becoming overpopulated.
