I’ve yet to meet a self-identified multiculturalist who has the faintest clue about his or her own culture except to be able to tick off a list of shallow accusations of evil-doing. It’s a fundamentally lazy position. Sure, all cultures are equal in the eyes of someone who is equally ignorant of all of them.

Your typical millennial college student’s concept of American history is just a narrative of oppression of non-whites by whites. The most important thing that happened in North America in the late 18th Century wasn’t the American Revolution, it was the transport of slaves and wars against “peaceful” Indians. The irony is that if they knew anything about the African or American Indian cultures that they claim to love and admire so much, they’d realize that most of them weren’t so peaceful and not at all opposed to slavery when they had the upper hand.
