Ankara "will not refrain from using its natural rights"

Turkey Ping
Ankara is about to get a wake-up call. Actually, two of them. The first will be our vacating Incirlik virtually overnight. Erdogan did himself no favors, again, when his goons started their same crap in New York at the UN.
Pandora’s box?
That sounds like a threat to me. will he go ballistic with the blessing of Russia and Iran?
“Erdogan did himself no favors, again, when his goons started their same crap in New York at the UN.”
Ferdinand Marcos, of the Philippines, had his goons/guards surround a political rival as he got off a plane. At the bottom of the steps one of the goons shot the rival to death. The resulting flap led to Marcos fleeing the country. Probably, Marcos didn’t order the killing. He simply employed people who would kill. Probably, they had little or no training and certainly, they had no political sense. You see this employment pattern in every dictatorship. Given the wrong setting the political thoughtlessness of this type of guard/goon has the potential to create more harm to the dictator than good. (None of this is, apparently, true in North Korea. However Kim is an actual god. So, he may play under different rules. Time will tell.)
Let the Kurds have their way
I don’t think so. Yes it is a threat. No, I don’t think Russia wants any part of this, except to see Turkey damaged and NATO crippled.
But the issue is not Russia, it is an internal NATO conflict. Erdogan the Islamist’s presence in NATO is counter to the entire reason for it’s formation. This must be recognized.
Either Erdogan and AKP goes. Or NATO must eject Turkey from it’s membership.
They are incompatible. It is a fact that cannot be ignored.
We shall see. I want the best for the Kurds. With their flaws, they are some of the best people in the Middle East.
Turks, and especially the neo-Ottoman Turks, have no “natural rights” over the Kurdish people.
The Kurds are an identified ethnicity, scattered over a region claimed in part by Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran, with a smattering elsewhere. Most of them have no desire whatsoever to integrate with the Turks, the Arabs, the Farsi Iranians, or Alawites of Syria, even though the majority of Kurds are Muslim. The Kurdish Muslims are a very different kind of Muslims, in that they are much more tolerant of other non-Islamic religions. And right there, that sets them apart from the fanatical kind of Islamist jihadist philosophy that marks most of the rest of Islam.
Not bad guys for the West to have on their side. They deserve a country of their own.
All correct.
The number of non Muslim Kurds is surprising. It is so in Iraq and in Syria. Probably in Turkey too.
I have maps with religious nature of communities and it is not as we are told. Christians try to project a low profile, because of extreme persecution and threat of death. There are many more in Syria than in Iraq. And they have been there a long time. (Many due to Turkish genocide attempts, they moved from threat)
