Ratings in Weeks 1 and 2 were down 12 and 15 percent, respectively, according to Nielsen.
To be sure, saturation TV coverage of Hurricane Irma sapped some eyeballs from football during the first week of play
Week 2 might have still been disrupted by carryover impacts from the hurricanes that hit Houston and Florida, UBS analyst Doug Mitchelson offered by way of explanation.

Tell your players to shut their mouths
Don't forget - the team owners could stop all of this BS if they wanted to. But so far - silence.

If a player kneels for the National Anthem I change the channel.

Remember this is 12-15% lower than LAST YEARS ratings which were down 12-15% from the year before. That’s 27% less than two years ago !!

Too compliated.
You kneel, you’re fired and ineligible to play EVER again.
That’s easy.

+1, great post. Most games are frankly boring as hell. My children and their cousins are so wrapped up in fantasy football, I want to scream. Local sports talk radio is 24/7 Cowboys...thankfully, college hoops is around the corner.

Just saw today some group of black players is pushing Goodell to further ghettoize the League.
Memo to Goodell: any brand no matter how popular can be destroyed. Remember when Schlitz was the most popular beer in America? Remember when boxing and horse racing were considered major sports along with baseball and football?

Americans don’t cheer for kneelers.

I don't tune in at all. No need to change channel.

Surely you jest. I've been a Giants fan since the early 50s and I'm STILL pi$$ed at Bart Starr. Full disclosure:
I was a Packers / Bart Starr fan in grade school.
Fell in with a bad crowd in my late 20's. They forced me to drink Bloody Mary's in the Meadowlands parking lot at 10:00 AM. every other weekend. :)
Did get to go to Pasadena in '87 which was cool.

NFL = NO FANS LEFT
It started when they perverted the super bowl into some “entertainment extravaganza half-time show” instead of a football game between the two best teams.
Now, they pander to all of the disaffected groups and dare the original fans, the bedrock of their business, to suck it up and deliver.
Okay. Here is our delivery...AMF!

Just saw today some group of black players is pushing Goodell to further ghettoize the League. Rush discussed this a few minutes ago. The black players want all of November, or maybe one Sunday, to recognize racism, inequality and profiling by cops, etc.
If Goodell goes for this, he's completely nuts and out-of-touch with reality.
Don't all fans want to tune into an NFL game and be preached to about racism, inequality and bad cops before, during and after the game?

I took a knee last year.
It kind of felt good after week two.
I do not miss it.
I can drink beer and mow my grass.
NFL was death by suicide.

Fell in with a bad crowd in my late 20's.
My family moved to Rochester in 1964 and all my new HS classmates tried to make me a Buffalo Bills fan (no Bloody Mary's involved).
I resisted, and after I spent 3 years in the Marine Corps they never tried again :)

The game is slow enough already. Now they want time to push every player’s pet political peeve? I already take sandwich, drink and pee breaks. What’s next, a lawn mower break?
