Odd. Northern Virginian here. When I vote I have to show photo ID, which is then checked against their registered voter records.

The fraud occurs in the registration process for the most part.
Once you are registered, you are home free. The photo ID is only proof at the polls (maybe) that you are the person on the registration list. Nobody checks to see if you are legitimately registered.
Documentation checks for registration are almost nil, especially in Northern Virginia, where everything is run by democrats.
I once followed SEIU canvassers around (their purple tee shirts are a giveaway) as they went through illegal immigrant and Asian immigrant neighborhoods registering voters. They always come back with dozens of new registration forms filled out. They even tried to get me to register on three different occasions, telling me to just check off the “US Citizen” box when I asked them if I had to show proof. They told me not to worry - nobody ever checks at the Registrar’s office.
They know democrat voter fraud is big in Virginia. That’s why McAuliffe doesn’t want to turn voter data over to the fraud commission.
