That is a courtesy title from a former life used to alert viewers

So basically an affectation, an effort to lend extra credence to her words.

Like when someone begins a sentence with "As an expert.."

What got her fired from being a Judge?

Jeanine Pirro

1975: appointed Assistant District Attorney Westchester County N.Y.

1990: elected Westchester County judge

1993: elected Westchester County District Attorney. Respected twice. 12 years served. Did not run again in 2005

She is not simply a celebrity "judge".

It is not an affectation, she was a judge.

I suppose she makes better money and has a national TV show. More exposure. Fame. Celebrity. Clout. Connections. Dinner parties.

They will always introduced a politician who is no longer in office by the title he held when he retired, as in Speaker Gingrich as Chris Wallace did this morning.
