not sure about this, heard officer’s dna was on pistol but not the perp’s................

I would be interested to know the answer to that too, and what the defense said about it.

Many guns go through many hands from the time of purchase, and many of don't get reregistered. I haven't read anything that suggests that the gun was stolen. The DA had six years to try to trace the gun from its initial purchase, and try to determine how it eventually ended up in the possession of Officer Shockley. It seems to me that it was impossible to do so.

That’s right, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t the dead dope dealers gun. A lack of evidence is not evidence. Stockley did what every other officer who has just found a gun under that was unsecured. He made it safe ergo he touched it.

Further, they couldn’t prove it wasn’t the other Sierra Hotel that was initially in the car with dopeman.

Lastly, there was heroin in the car. Stockley seized it, badguy DNA on it, Stockley’s not.
