Democrats are fearful that the Trump dossier is a piece of fiction, one that the FBI used to form the basis of its investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government.
Thats one theory that South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy is proposing for why Democrats are pushing back so hard against a GOP effort to get answers about the dossier from the FBI and Justice Department.
In an interview with The Daily Caller, the House Intelligence Committee member addressed claims from his Democratic colleagues and some in the media that he and his fellow Republicans are attempting to discredit the dossier and its author, former British spy Christopher Steele, in order to help Trump.

We already KNOW it’s fiction... Do these people get cut off from reality when they arrive in DC?

We all know it’s fiction.
Including McCain, who procured it.

I think he means that Democrats Are Fearful Trump Dossier will be EXPOSED as A Piece Of Fiction.

“The agencies did not provide documents in response to the subpoena...”
Which is exactly what the response would have been from an Obama or Hillary Justice Department.

They may be fearful that the dossier is fiction, but they aren’t fearful that anything will ever be done about it.
They already are stonewalling on giving up the information, and what is being done about that?

We all need to hear how the fictional Russian prostitutes, with fake urine, supposedly peed on a non-existing bed that Barry and Michelle never slept on and that all of these data-points led to the indisputable conclusion that Trump rigged the elections of all 50 states and all territories with the help and collusion of Vlad Putin.
But, anything can happen - we got from the Whitewater real estate fraud to a stained blue dress and sex in the Oval Office (and a crap-load of lying), and we got from sweet tea and yellow cake and glammed-up Ex-CIA wife to Scooter being jailed for not remembering a date.
I hope we don't go from pee to impeachment on complete falsehoods.

Authority over the release of the Russian Trump Dossier to Congress or, for that matter, to the LA Times or Freerepublic.com:
FBI Director Chris Wray
Attorney General Jeff Sessions
President of the United States Donald Trump
Did I miss anyone?
Apparently one or all of these guys don’t want Congress to get an official copy.
Recommendations:
1. Go figure.
2. Ask John McCain to borrow his copy.

“The 35-page document alleges that the Kremlin has blackmailed Trump for years and that members of the Trump campaign were in direct contact with Russian government officials as part of a plot to sway the election.”
Even if Trump did meet with some Russians decades ago, it’s no different than going to a Clinton wedding. They’re all communists, too, eh?

Sorry, but until Congressman Gowdy finally produces something concrete and substantive it’s all swamp gas to me.

First time I have heard Gowdy sound weak, or so only mildly accurate.
Perhaps this odd mildness for a change, means he’s really got this handled. Usually, Gowdy is very forceful but knows it’s actually going nowhere.
This time it may go somewhere the Left doesn’t want it to go, because his mildness could demonstrate a generosity knowing he is going to CRUSH this one.
Just sayin’.

They know its fiction, and when it the final nail of truth is hammered into its heart and the whole Russia-gate thing dies, they and the MSM will simply ignore it.

If the contents of this dossier were NOT fiction, then there would be way more unexplained gaps and inconsistencies. A well-written piece of fiction has its own internal logic, and all the various threads are carefully gathered up and combined into the tapestry, no loose ends left over.
There was WAY overmuch detail included with the “report”.

‘But Page, who has never met Trump, vehemently denies the allegation. He refers to Steeles document as the dodgy dossier.’
He also referred to Washington as “The Vile Village”, and to the present Congress’s legislative practices as “the Miserable Mill.”

This time it may go somewhere the Left doesnt want it to go, because his mildness could demonstrate a generosity knowing he is going to CRUSH this one. OR....his mildness could indicate it may go somewhere Mr. Gowdy doesn't want it to go.
Just sayin'.
