We know that the terrorists hated us and wanted to kill us. They were and are our enemies.

What was less clear is what the rest of Muslims thought of America and which side they took up after 9/11.

For the most part they said nothing or they cheered. I put both of those groups in the same category as the terrorists who actually killed Americans — our enemies. NO, BEING QUIET DOESN’T GIVE YOU A FREE PASS. YOU ARE OUR ENEMY IF YOU SAY NOTHING.

Based on some interviews I read of Muslims after 9-11, IMHO 85% middle eastern Muslims supported or were sympathetic to the attackers.

There was plenty of conditional disapproval such as "We condemn the attackers, but......" and then they went on to list their Muslim grievances against the West.

I doubt much has changed, and in countries with Muslim majorities, dissenters are killed.
