The entire Florida Peninsula and points north are poised to experience Hurricane Irma after the storm hugged Cuba's northern coastline. Thousands of Floridians who evacuated the Atlantic cost to Gulf Coast areas found their safe shelter under direct threat from Hurricane Irma as the forecast shifted W Friday night and Saturday. Hurricane Irma's prolonged interaction with Cuba diminished its strength to Category 3.
Irma is forecast to increase in strength as it crosses the FL Straits. The Florida Keys experienced strong outer bands while Irma grazed the N Cuba coastline.

I’m over models at this point in the game. I’m just watching it to see wth happens.
You have been saying that all along.
Maybe you should take up meteorology.
Of course, presuming that you are correct, which we will find out in a few hours.
I don’t think it’ll do a 90 either. I was hoping it would go to Mexico.
what is the time of that map?
I am terrified of heights. A few years ago we went over Bear Tooth Pass in northwest Montana. I quite literally laid on the floor of the car, tossed up all stomach contents, and sobbed. Never again. That bridge looks terrifying. I’m such a wimp. I must have some retrogressive memory from a past life. LOL.
I’m surprised that other houses are so close....
513 shows the low pressure trough moving down from the center of the US. It will provide the low pressure path of less resistance for Irma. The western high was in an earlier image. There was actually a third high pressure ridge to the NE that was in play earlier preventing northward flow. This is not a field for art majors lol.
Their women’s clothes can be very cheap quality.
I gave up on them years ago.
.
Zero Zulu is 8pm EDT. That is when the started the runs, can take over an hour to complete them.
F L O R I D A — The governor just stated if you can’t get out of any mandatory evacuation, whether for fuel or any reason at all, call 1-800-955-5504, right now! He said they will do anything in their power to help get anyone in a mandatory evacuation area out. Even if you are elderly, disabled, have pets, have no money, any reason at all they will get you and your loved ones out. My Florida family & friends, please be safe and stay in touch if you can. If I ignore the eye and look at the northern part of the storm, the movement north is obvious.
Probably just a matter of time until the core of the storm follows.
Looks like they have it right.
Time to pray for the best outcome for everyone.
Look at dirtboy post #513. See that huge high pressure front coming down on the NW of Irma? That is why mostly everyone is saying Irma is not going to go too much further west and will eventually be forced/pulled up NW.
I totally understand. I’m the same way. Don’t mind flying.
Odd, that.
2:30 am look at all that Atlantic moisture being sucked in off Georgia. Dang.

I heard earlier tonight that utilities including water were being turned off on Siesta Key ahead of the storm.
weird that water vapor wouldn’t go the same direction as the wind.
Hurricnae Harvey just being the most recent example.
RR I would have been right there with you telling everyone I was going to kill them...
Sorry Bryan ((((Hugs))))
