I don’t understand how why the republicans don’t have enough votes to fund the government given their majorities. Would the country go for every single democrat shutting it down and that’s supposed to hurt Trump?
The Republicans don’t have a “working” majority.
There’s too many moderates that are from safe states that would vote with Dems on major conservative legislation. Plus the fact that the leadership is dancing to the Chamber of Commerce tune...and the modern CoC is much more in sync with liberal interests.
If the ‘Rats could shut down the government they wouldn’t.
Then again, if they could shut down the government and did, the media would blame president Trump.

That was the whole point of throwing the DACA policy back upon the Congress.
The “Dreamers” program was NEVER established by legislation, and in fact, had been voted down several times before the Former Occupant of the White Hut just unilaterally imposed it.
In no form shall the provisions of the DACA policy, as it now stands, ever survive a pass through the House and Senate by such a margin as to be able to override a Presidential veto, and it it does, then things are at a worse pass than ever I imagined.

Stop all gov. payouts for everything. No emergency funds. No welfare or Soc. Sec. checks. No obamacare. Send park rangers home and leave evacuees on their own. Send home those monitoring levees and whatever disaster that’s following Irma. Send home the military. Turn off every light, phone and computer on The Hill. Make it a complete shut down. Make sure to inform fat boy in NK with the last email out.

Trump would NOT have to close down popular tourist attractions like the Washington Monument or the National Parks, for example.
Obama did that –but not because he HAD to close our National Parks and Monuments. Obama could've kept them open ... however for purely political motives (i.e., blaming Republicans) he tried to whip up public anger over the so-called shut-down.
Remember how Obama even tried to block tourists from visiting Mt Vernon? But it turned out Mt Vernon is not run by the National Park Service, but by a private organization (the Mt Vernon Ladies Association, I believe). So Mt Vernon remained open for visitors.
One criteria of DACA:
Were Under Age 31 on June 15, 2012 (i.e., born on June 16, 1981 or after)
If the gov’t. shuts down,maybe they could shut down Gutierrez’s paycheck at the same time. Shut it down!
