Leslie Van Houten, a former Charles Manson follower who killed for the mass murderer in 1969, has been granted parole in California.
Van Houten, the youngest of Manson’s followers, was scheduled to appear before a parole panel for the 21st time on Wednesday. She was 19 when she took part in a series of murders during the summer of 1969 in Los Angeles.
Gov. Jerry Brown now has a 120-day period to affirm, reverse or take no action on the decision.

Only a little while back did I learn that Sarah Jane Moore wasn't one of Charlie's girls.
I think the media kept quiet about any ideological motivations she had, and maybe other people also assumed she was part of the Manson family.

No, she hasn’t. Parole has been approved by the parole board again. The governor can strike it down just like the last one. Nothing has been granted , yet
She needs have been killed instead of being a guest of the taxpayers. They all should! Dad said it was a horrendous crime.
This woman has spent her entire adult life in prison. I doubt she has any real place to go if she got out. I am sure her family does not want her, my guess is that there are probably some Manson groupies out there that would take her in.
I am reminded of the movie “Shawshank Redemption” when James Whitmore’s character was paroled. He to, had spent, most of life behind bars. He got out, gets job he hates, and decides he can’t handle the outside world and commits suicide.
This woman could possibly do the same. There is really nothing for her on the outside and after so long in could she really adapt to a world that has changed so much?

At least this is not happening in 2016, so Obama can’t invite her for a Rose Garden photo-op if Jerry Brown OK’s the parole.
You kiddin’? In 2017 America, she’s an instant celebrity. It may take a little time, but Hollywood will embrace her and glamourize, her focusing on any tiny amount of abuse she may have suffered in her life.

Debra Tate is fighting the good fight to keep them in prison plus standing up for other victims families. Two of her sisters and her mother all died but kept up the same cause until the end. Almost seems that members of the Manson twisted circus are trying to outlive them all and then get parole.
