So widespread power outages are likely well inland...including atlanta.
I’ve got a lot of neighbors evacuating to Georgia. Big mistake, IMO. We’re headed to Alabama in the AM and will be out of the cone.
I would love to be wrong. I gave naughty nurse my thoughts on the storm 4 days ago. I was wrong on parts of my prediction, did not think it would land as a 5. I believed it would weaken as water temps had been lower toward Cuba and Florida. They went up a lot. Bastardi is calling for a lowering to a 4 then back to a 5 before it hits. We need to see where this actually hits. I called for a more westwardly path as it kept dropping, thought it might go in to the gulf. The winds in this storm as it goes over land could be very ugly. If it keeps getting fed from the hot Atlantic waters. No promises. We may get a ton of wind damage inland. The wedge/high over the north east wont help. I don’t say that much because the thread already has a thousand experts.
Be prepared! That boyscout motto!
Some of the models show that we here in the Knoxville area might get some of the storm. Hope it will have petered out quite a bit by then. But we’re not all that far from Atlanta, either. It should be interesting.
