She is blowing up big now. Must be feeling that bath tub water. But it looks like she jogged west again just now. Cuba coast line still has a hold of her for a bit.

More from Bastardi on twitter in the past few minutes:

"Euro 9KM deepens almost 30 mb from initialization ( 956) with 8 pm landfall near Port Charlotte 928 mb . All models seeing major deepening" [intensification]

"Euro 3km would likely see this quite a big deeper,. Lowest pressure likely midway between GFS and Euro, maybe 910 mb. Would beat Donna" (if it gets to 910 mb, that would be a Cat 5-level storm again)

She’s not blowing up that big right now. At 5am the max winds were 121 and now they’re 125.

That’s not that much of an increase from when it was riding the coast of Cuba. It will definitely intensify in the next several hours, though.

Sorry, but I bulk at some exaggerated rhetoric. This hurricane is bad enough without it.

Winds are 125, Cat 3, down from Cat 4. Cuba weakened it. Forecast to become a Cat 4 again.
