That sounds far more reasonable! I anticipate flooding from the backyard pond and trees uprooted. Since they have no basement in a small home, where does one hunker down?

Do you have trees that could potentially fall on the house? If so, get an understanding of likely wind direction from the storm in your location and get as far as you can from where they could fall as a result, preferably in an interior room. If they’re not especially large trees, they’ll just make a lot of noise and land on the roof, causing some damage but not crushing the structure. If they’re large hardwoods that can fall on the house, there could be a big problem.
