“Trump tried over and over again to play nice with the GOP.
It got him nowhere.
Trump now has the GOP’s attention.”

Basically, the GOP was trying to make Trump irrelevant, particularly with regard to his main promise, which is the Wall.

It’s quite possible that their long-term plan was to discredit Trump with his supporters by blocking the Wall, Obamacare repeal, and tax cuts ‘See, Trump can’t get anything done - he’s useless’. And also make him out to be a nutcase, such as when he also called out the Alt-Left in Charlottesville and many other cases.

With Trump useless and discredited as President, the final blow, they hoped, would come from Mueller. At that point, the idea would be to remove Trump from office, knowing that even his supporters are sick of him.

At least that was the plan...now it’s in tatters as the Republican leadership now has to fight for its life.

Nice post.

Ryan and McConnell thought they had all the power.
That they had Trump boxed in.

Trump put a boot on their throats and showed it is he
that controls the power in DC.

I am listening to Ingraham. She says Ryan came out
a few minutes ago pushing Tax cuts.
Looks like Ryan got the message.
We will see about the Turdle.
