Couldn’t pass it before in a non-election season.
Must pass House and Senate.
Time will tell. I don’t expect it to pass.
I hope you are correct, but I see this as the mirror image of Obamacare.
With Obamacare they were happy to vote repeal and have him veto the bill each time. This gave them cover with the base-” well we tried the repeal but we just can’t override the veto.” Then once obama was gone they suddenly didn’t have the votes.
Daca on the other hand they could rant and rail against Obama for an unconstitutional action but never quite muster enough votes to fix it. This allowed them to tell us-” we tried. This is illegal, but we do not have the votes.” The dems were happy as more illegals were allowed to stay and the chamber of commerce-cheap labor express was also taken care of. Now they may suddenly have enough votes to pass Daca.
Some would say this is a good thing because we’ll know where McCain et all stand and we can primary them. But I’ve got to ask, do we really not know where the Susan Collins crowd stands?
Losing on Daca for the sake of exposing more Rinos doesn’t seem to buy us much. If we want to turn up the pressure why not start deporting people en masse?
