My ancient dad’s a throwback. When he was in the hospital (in Canada) earlier this year for a broken femur, he thanked a helpful nurse by saying, “That’s mighty white of you.”
Mind you, he was genuinely nice to every race, color, and creed of employee that the Canadian health care system could throw at him — and that’s a pretty wide range.
