The only question is how many senators it takes to override a presidential veto. The answer is 67.

I suspect 2/3 in the house would be even harder to get.

Since all republicans in the house are up for re-election,it will be impossible to get a majority in the house and DACA will die......UNLESS,they give Trump all his funding for the wall or huge tax cuts..He will get a huge concession out of this...

“I suspect 2/3 in the house would be even harder to get.”

Something like 96 Republicans in the House are needed for an override...and, of course, every one of those 96 is up for re-election next year.

I’m not seeing any rush to microphones from RINOs and fake
conservatives after Sessions announcement.
And it has been hours since his announcement.
Only a few usual suspects seem to want to go on record.
And a few is not nearly enough to pass a bill.
Me thinks the coming primary season is keeping the rest quiet.

I don’t think the game here by Trump is to play with the veto. I think he intends to hook his tax reform package onto this with some piece of the funding for the Wall. He’s going to force the GOP group working against him...to make a decision about the future, and he’ll accept some form of the Dream act to move forward.

I would also suggest that such legal Dream act....would be the target of court action because it discriminates against older immigrants. It’ll be dragged into the Supreme Court eventually (when passed), and they will probably throw the law out. Trump gets his tax reform deal in the end, and likely the big chunk of the Wall financing.
