His wife also works the fires taking drinks, food and anything else they need.

Someone on another forum said they had tried to take snacks and drinks to one of the fire camps, but a FEMA official stopped them and said that there was a caterer bringing meals, and that the firefighters weren't allowed to stray from their proscribed diet.

A: Is that normal?

And B: What's the best way for a civilian to help?

From what I have understood in the past the firefighters are constantly supplied with drinks, food and anything they need. They have support people working like crazy behind the scenes.

As far as a certain diet, I don’t know, I just know that they try their very best to make sure they get all they need.
