My father was a teacher in the public schools for 35 years and then at a private school for 16 more.

He had little use for the teacher’s union. While they were fighting to increase the maximum number of days you could “bank” and get paid fir outright at retirement from 260 to unlimited, dad was busy trying to give kids the best education he could. Holding a Ph.D. In Linguistics, he taught Honors level Latin and Classical Greek and coached debate. He had little use for those that quibbled over two minutes here and commas in contracts.

I can’t imagine his take on these fools.

My mom was an elementary ed teacher back in the 60s and 70s. She's been a Professor of Education for decades and considered one of the best teachers in the entire university. She has nothing to do with the NEA. Her Education colleagues, many of whom have never set foot in a classroom, are surely all members.

Real teachers like your dad and my mom recognize what a fraud and disaster the NEA, its principles, and its members are.
