OK!! Everybody pay attention!
Lesson for today:
1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.
3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.
4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

It had nothing to do with man made climate change.

I know it was unintentional on your part, but you adopted the language of the left....

There is no man-made climate change...

Might as well say climate change was caused by the moon turning to cheese...

Of course, but that won’t stop them. Being a self-identified liberal is a religion for them.

Building expensive property in areas prone to hurricanes is a guarantee that periodically, costly damage will transpire. As more things are built there, repair costs will escalate. As time goes on, inflation will require repair costs to escalate.

There is a guaranteed way to eliminate hurricane damage to private property. Abandon development in areas likely to experience hurricanes and the costs will disappear. Until then, measuring hurricane damage by comparing monetary repairs is a way the extremists can "prove" their narrative that GW is creating increasingly destructive hurricanes.

I knew this would happen.

Was Camille (1969) caused by "cllmate change"?
Was the Great New England Hurricane (1938) caused by "climate change"?
Was the Galveston Hurricane (1900) caused by "climate change"?

When I was a kid on Long Island, there were 10 hurricanes between 1954-1964, two of which rearranged the barrier islands and created new inlets while destroying old ones. Since then, there have been two. Is that "climate change"?

Hurricanes & other severe storms come & go in their frequency & severity, but the lunatics seem to be forever with us. Some of you will remember the awful blizzard of 1949. I don’t recall anyone at the time suggesting it was “man-caused climate change” or suggesting that we could do anything about changing it......but to dig out afterwards.

Where’s the proof that global warming caused Harvey, or that global warming is man-caused? I’m still waiting!!

“....man made climate change..”. Ooops you said it again. LOL! I remember some of my NASA buddies reaction when Bolden got the job. Lots of head shaking going on. Besides which, to a lot of us, being a denier is a plus. Of course from the nyt it just another case that Trump is racist. Or something.

I thought Obama did that. Didn’t the sea levels fall on his inauguration. Day?

“””hurricanes are wreaking ever-more havoc”””

Yes, a hurricane in 2017 will probably wreak more havoc than a hurricane in 1950 did.

But, the increased havoc is the result of new, fancy, and expensive buildings that have been constructed along the East Coast and Gulf Coast of the USA.

In 1950 many people built homes on the barrier islands of Florida. But those 1950 homes were cheaply built because the owner fully expected a hurricane would eventually blow the building down or flood.

Trump has made an error here—the administrator of Never A Straight Answer has a duty to lie, lie, lie...and we should be glad the New York Times is demanding this practice continue. ;-)

That’s exactly right. The only global warming argument is that there may be a few percent more rain with warming. Instead the alarmists are arguing that stalling has something to do with warming, but that is not correct.

The most expensive hurricane ever was Miami, 1926. I think the most expensive flood ever was the Great Flood of 1951 in Kansas, although I'm not sure. Flood costs are normalized to GDP and the Miami costs are normalized for insured value.
