"...a scandalous expression of how justice works in America..."
The already tense relationship between Turkey and the United States further deteriorated Friday after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan lambasted a U.S. grand jury that brought charges against 19 people, including 15 members of Erdogans security detail.
The 19 suspects had allegedly been caught kicking, beating and harassing protesters during a peaceful demonstration in Washington, D.C. in May.
Erdogan accused the grand jury of engaging in a scandal and harshly criticized the American justice system.

Remember, there was a recent demonstration in Turkey after a Kemalist group marched 260 miles from Ankara to Istanbul in 25 days under the banner of "Adalet" (Turkish for "Justice"). This was not billed as a Kemalist effort, they received support from many other groups. There were more than 1 million who joined the rally near Istanbul.
And Erdogan want to lecture the US about "Justice".
Insane.
Hey Erdogan, keep your thugs home next time.
Next time? hee hee
In Turkey Erdogan’s thugs have free reign to beat down opposition.
He expects to be able to do the same here.
The US is not nor will it be like Turkey.
I suspect Erdogan will get a lesson in reality at some point. Note, he has not arrested a single Kemalist official. He knows they are capable of dealing with him.
2 of Turkey’s highest Military Intelligence officers are captives of the PKK. Along with some of their forces. Erdogan has demanded they be returned, PKK said no way.
Bits and pieces of the details have been released, the names have not. But of course Turkey knows who they are.
Yes, the instruction are there.
Erdogan is a barbarian who has no concept of the meaning of ‘justice’.
Yes. You are correct. But he just used exactly that word to criticize the US.
This will come to a head. It will affect the EU. It will affect Turkey. It might affect some of Turkey’s neighbors.
Turkey has a huge military. But I can assure you that there are many Kemalists still there.
If they were Antifa, our press would be applauding them.
Incredible, isn’t it.
Erdogan has purged the Kemalists. This has been going on for the last few/several years.
He has not targeted a single Kemalist Politician. Military officers? Possibly.
He fears them. With cause.
They lead a march Ankara to Istanbul that ended with 1 million people gathering demonstrating for “Justice”.
No action by Erdogan. Nobody else would have been able to do that.
