You can’t blame Trump for getting blindsided by Sessions. Jeff fooled an awful lot of people. The blame for that is on the duplicitous Sessions, not Trump.

At this point it’s a calculus. In what scenario can Trump accomplish more for America: A, a chaotic scream/hate-fest in which all day every day is devoted to trashing Trump AND there is no AG at all bc the Senate refuses to confirm a replacement for Jeff [and probably wouldn’t confirm anyone to any other position either], or B, Trump gets as much done as he can despite the traitorous Justice Dept.

For now B may be the only practical option. Hopefully things change, perhaps as a result of the midterms. But the bottom line is that Sessions screwed us over, and nobody is to blame for that but Jeff.

Perhaps. Perhaps.

But Trump is Sessions’ DIRECT, CONSTITUTIONALLY APPOINTED, SUPERIOR. If you had written on the day before the election that Trump’s subordinates would laugh in his face and flip him off, and that the politics of the entire thing would leave Trump stymied, you’d have been ridiculed beyond all imagining.

I (BOLD/UNDERSCRORE again) certainly would not have believed it.

Maybe you are right, and Trump is left politically impotent by things beyond his control, but if the nation cannot defeat this set-in-stone notion that democrats, including antifa, are above the law, then Trump’s election is meaningless.
