You must have missed the 2016 Republican Primary. Trump would say something and Ted would change his words - sometimes right on the same stage in the debates.

The Cruz campaign aided and abetted by Glenn Beck was based largely on telling the voters what Trump said. Only problem was that Trump didn’t say it.

The voters like me were left with,”Who you gonna believe, me (Ted Cruz/Glenn Beck) or your lying eyes (and ears)?

The wheels really came off when Ted Cruz lied about the Iowa Caucus hi-jinks about Ben Carson dropping out. The whole thing was clearly staged as the Cruz campaign seemed pounce a rumor over a silly tweet as the Caucus convened.
