It’s all in HEIGHT! If you lift the engine, which includes its air intake, another 4 feet, then you have another 4 feet of capability to get through water (which is probably 2 feet plus to start). If you lift it 6 feet, that much better.

If you lift it 6 feet, that much better. More if you have a snorkel. I know folks in Houston with snorkels on their jeeps.

Don't forget to extend the breather hoses from the differentials and transmission to the high point of the engine air intake. Exhaust pipes need to be raised too.
