My white privilege got me in the Army in 1971, and because of that privilege they paid me $134 a month and only had to work 60-70 hours a week. I learned to clean toilets, mop floors, pick up cigarette butts and other assorted details. Without my white privilege , I would have never been able to get into the Army. White privilege has been very very good to me!
LOL! Yeah, my dad was an O-6 Navy Captain and he swore me in as an E-1 in 1967. Didn’t seem to help me much in bootcamp or any of the ships I was assigned to. Bilge cleaning is bilge cleaning. ;-)
