For years I owned a house in one of the more desirable suburbs of a major US city.Mine was a nice,sturdy,tidy house located in a neighborhood of much bigger and fancier houses.And it's important to know that this town is a major Rat Party stronghold.A few years before I moved out a proposal was floated to place some "affordable housing" on a piece of vacant land near me.
Well,the neighborhood went nuts! "Think about the traffic"..."think about the children"..."think about the pollution" were the cries.
Of course there never was any "think about the darkies".
