CONFIRMED: Comey Decided He Wasn't Going to Refer Hillary For Prosecution Long Before FBI Investigation Was Over

According to new transcripts released by the Senate Judiciary Thursday afternoon, former FBI Director James Comey made the decision not to refer then Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for prosecution long before ever interviewing key witnesses. Members of the Committee allege Comey made the decision months before FBI agents were finished with the criminal investigation of her mishandling classified information during her time as Secretary of State.

The transcripts were revealed in a letter sent to current FBI Director Christopher Wray, in which lawmakers are demanding an explanation and more documents surrounding the case.

"According to the unredacted portions of the transcripts, it appears that in April or early May of 2016, Mr. Comey had already decided he would issue a statement exonerating Secretary Clinton. That was long before FBI agents finished their work. Mr. Comey even circulated an early draft statement to select members of senior FBI leadership. The outcome of an investigation should not be prejudged while FBI agents are still hard at work trying to gather the facts," the letter, signed by Chairman Chuck Grassley and Committee member Lindsey Graham states. "Conclusion first, fact-gathering second—that’s no way to run an investigation. The FBI should be held to a higher standard than that, especially in a matter of such great public interest and controversy."

"It is unclear whether the FBI agents actually investigating the case were aware that Mr. Comey had already decided on the investigation’s outcome while their work was ongoing. However, it appears that the answer to that question may be underneath some of the extensive redactions that the Department made to the transcripts," the letter continues.

According to the letter and an ongoing investigation into the matter, Comey started drafting a statement exonerating Clinton in April or May of 2016. At this point, he had not interviewed Clinton herself or her closest aides. This included Bryan Pagliano, who set up the personal server where Clinton hosted and shared top secret information, and Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, who was granted immunity. On July 5, 2016, Comey made his public statement that the FBI would not be referring Clinton to the Department of Justice for prosecution.

You can read the letter, which contains excerpts from the transcripts, below.

In Congressional testimony, Comey was asked if the FBI had also investigated the IRS targeting of Obama political opponents and other scandals

Comey said the FBI had investigated

He was then asked if they had uncovered any wrong doing and Federal criminal laws being broken

Comey said, “ we sure did, lots of it in fact. But it was just like with Hillary Clinton, we found no criminal intent, no mens rea, so we could not prosecute”

Comey was head of Obama’s clean up committee

Will the swamp ever be drained? Will anyone ever be locked up?

Love it. A direct slam against the FBI and the reason they were not honoring FOIA requests.

This POS belongs in a supermax prison, in a cell right next to hillary.

Comey single-handedly destroyed any credibility the FBI had.

They are now the socialist-democrats goon squad, and they have that POS mueller heading up their political get Trump witch hunt.

This puts LEO’s in a very precarious and dangerous situation. Do you trust them to uphold the law? Or are they just brownshirts who crush dissent for a paycheck?

The whole sanctuary city, and hands off approach to antifa thuggery reinforce the negative image of LEO’s.

If I were part of the police force, I would definitely distance myself from all of this political bullshit, before it gets me killed.

Makes perfect sense - the swamp decided Hillary was innocent, before bothering to finish the investigation - the same swamp that decided Trump is guilty BEFORE even starting the investigation.

Did you really just use the words ‘Sessions” and “action” in the same sentence?

Exactly. Comey was sure Hillary would win and all of this would be pushed under the carpet. The Trump collusion with Russia investigation began in July 2016. It was just an insurance policy for Hillary and the Intel community that didn’t want Trump as President or Flynn as National Security Advisor.

No surprise. That's justice in the Clinton-Obama era.

I wouldn't put it past Mueller to send a report to Congress accusing Trump of obstruction of justice for the firing of Comey, his buddy. Zero evidence unless he counts Trump being aware of his son's meeting with a Russian lawyer as proof that Trump wanted the investigation to end. Then it would be up to Trump's enemies in Congress what to do next.

My feeling, too.

HEY JEFF SESSIONS, ET AL ...

WHEN, exactly, are WE THE PEOPLE going to see ANY of these scumbags held to account? Or is there not enough “public interest”?

Comey is a co-conspirator. As is Lynch.

And Clinton’s e-mails are “only” an enabling crime.
