this year BBC Culture decided to get serious about comedy. We asked 253 film critics 118 women and 135 men from 52 countries and six continents a simple: What do you think are the 10 best comedies of all time? Films from any country made since cinema was invented were eligible, and BBC Culture did nothing to define in advance what a comedy is; we left that to each of the critics to decide. As always, we urged the experts to go with their heart and pick personal favourites, films that are part of their lives, not just the ones that meet some ideal of greatness.

I’m surprised The Lavender Hill Mob isn’t on the list.
Watching the Tigers the next 20 years?
Adios Verlander.
Back to "watch them earn their stripes!"
...actually, I haven't watched them for the most part since(after 2 clown-show WS appearances) they threw Price, Verlander, Scherzer in the ALDS...and got swept.
That said, me thinks Avila & Ausmus are clueless, while son of a Ilitch wants to "sell! sell! sell!"...
So...yer 'gators(minus 10+ suspended players)gonna embarrass Harbaugh tomorrow? If they do, the flamethrower on Jimmy's arse to beat OSU(at home)this year gonna be enough to turn those khaki's a darker shade of brown(inside and out).
The movie was so close to the college atmosphere of the 60s. We had a term called “RFing” for pranks like killing a horse in someone’s room. No, we didn’t do anything like that, but the whole scenario was the same. I knew what the punchline was—guy with the chainsaw—before he appeared on the screen. As crazy as college life was in the 60s, in so many ways it looks positively old-fashioned. Imagine there was a time when guys could not get any farther than the lobby in a girls’ dorm. Imagine a time when there were such things as girls’ and guys’ dorms. Imagine a time when girls and guys knew which were which.
I’m not very optimistic about our chances tomorrow, even if we had all the players. We’re still a work in progress.
