My paternal grandfather had to run, literally for his life, from Russia in his early 20s because of the Communists there. His father had everything that he ever worked for stolen by the Communists and then, as a bonus, was deemed such a threat to them at age 74 that they dragged him to prison and beat him so badly that he died shortly after being released.
Not to mention that Stalin murdered at least 20 million of his own people (including about 10 million Ukrainian “Kulaks” that were literally starved to death in the early 1930s), and Mao had about 60 million murdered.
