Roy Moore and Sen. Luther Strange are locked in a neck-and-neck battle in their runoff race in Alabama, according to a poll released Tuesday that also shows President Trump is very popular among likely runoff voters.
Mr. Moore, former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, holds a 47 percent to 45 percent edge over Mr. Strange in the survey from Harper Polling of 600 likely runoff voters that carries a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.
The runoff race is slated for Sept. 26.
Close to four in 10 poll respondents said they want a candidate that has demonstrated strong support for President Trump, compared to 27 percent who said they want a candidate withconservative values, and 11 percent who said they want someone who is willing to fight the Republican establishment in Washington.
The poll found that 87 percent of likely voters viewed Mr. Trump in a favorable light.

He was kicked out of the offices for not backing down. If he had rolled over, he would have maintained his office. But I am sure you already know that, living in Alabama.
He can’t be kicked out of the Senate.
They’re all tight to me.
Alabama kinda does allow Democrat crossover, but with some restrictions. A very light primary vote tends to encourage this bad behavior.
Things are getting ever Moore Strange all the time.
I promise yoou that the McConnell pac will pay blacks to cross over after the McConnell pac publishes scurrilous lies that some how Judge Moore is a “racist”. The GOPe is absolutely panicked that Judge Moore will not play ball with the GOPe and they will absolutely get black Democrats to cross over and will pay them to do so. They did that in Mississippi to defeat McDaniel who beat the dead head Thad Cochran in the primary ( establishment). There were reports of $20 paid blacks for votes. If you are trying to liberate your state from establishment tyranny you must get active to muster every last vote for Roy Moore and to watch carefully for the establishment buying votes which is illegal as hell. I assure you that Strange is a joke. He is a McConnell butt boy for sure!!
One or the other poll is questionable certainly. But the only poll that matter will occur next month on election day.
Hope Moore wins.
Strange is a McConnell puppet, despite what he has said to Trump.
They’re going to give Moore the MISSISSIPPI TREATMENT if we don’t unite and send a few dollars en masse.
I’ll try to do that this afternoon. Saving a Republic and our future seems to require pooling our few dollars, but it helps.
It did, but not anymore. From May 30, this year:
Gov. Kay Ivey has signed a law that prevent crossover voting in the state. The bill, sponsored by Sen. Tom Whatley, specifically prohibits voters from casting a ballot for one party in a primary and then crossing over to vote in another party's runoff elections.
"It helps the Democrats choose Democratic candidates, it helps the Republicans choose Republican candidates. It just prevents the cross-over voting so you get a pure general election with a Democrat and a Republican," Whatley said.
This is excellent news for Judge Moore and really bad news for McConnell, Strange, et al.
See number 28.
lets see what LS has to say about this poll.
Concur: The news media is manipulating the RESULTS of the AL election by manipulating their polling BEFORE the election.
As they tried for months in the 2016 presidential election.
Luther Strange’s RINO handlers may have arranged for this poll to appear at this time.
Strange is in full attack mode on Moore calling Judge Moore a “hypocrite”.
It was recently reported that President Trump was “distancing” himself from Luther Stange and his earlier endorsement.
Trump needs to get away from the dirty war that the GOP machine will wage to take out Roy Moore in the September 26th runoff.
Roy Moore’s ads say he’s in there to support the president on border security while the RINO’s in the McConnell camp who’ve endorsed Luther Strange twiddle their thumbs.
Never heard of this outfit.
“”The frontrunner in Alabamas U.S. Senate race with 39 percent of the vote, Moore alleges that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is trying to steal the election by letting Democrats vote in Alabamas Republican primary. Alabama Judge Roy Moore Reveals Shocking New Info On Senate Race”
Prima facie PROOF the man is not honest.
Alabama allows Democrats to vote in GOP primaries by law, provided they did not vote in the Dim primary.
It’s NOT McConnell (piss be upon his name) that is “letting” Democrats vote in the republican primary. It’s Alabama law.
But Moore chooses to lie to voters to get them stirred up.
Now, doesn’t that remind everyone of how Ted Cruz operates?
Not to mention that Moore is a hypocrite every time he mentions the rule of law. He refused to follow the law, and supporting court decisions. That’s why he was removed from his seat.
By the State of Alabama, you know, that crazy liberal SJW cabal.
Judge Moore does not respect the law.
“There is no way Brooks 20% voters are aligning with McConnell.”
Correct.
They are clearly aligning with Trump. That’s why they are voting for Strange.
“He was kicked out of the offices for not backing down. “
He was kicked out of office for breaking the law. And he was removed by the State of Alabama.
praise Jesus!! They will still do it. I promise. Claim civil rights.
I read the source you posted and it is good news but I will tell you that very few democrats actually voted in their primary. 90% did not vote. McConnell will solicit door to door faking a voter registration drive and pay peoplwe to vote for Strange claiming the Roy Moore is racists. I see it coming like a freight train.
The bill, sponsored by Sen. Tom Whatley, specifically prohibits voters from casting a ballot for one party in a primary and then crossing over to vote in another party's runoff elections.
Looks like a Dem could cross over and vote for Strange. But then they won't be able to vote for the Dem candidate in the general. Considering Alabama is a very Red state, not being able to vote for the Dem candidate, who will most likely lose anyway, may not be a big deal.
Short of something crooked, Moore will win the primary with ease.
