Exclusive: Imran Awan Has Still-Active Secret House Account, And It’s Tied To [An Intel Staffer]
dailycaller.com ^ | Luke Rosiak

Posted on 08/30/2017 4:07:43 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

A former IT aide suspected of stealing equipment and data from Congress still has an active, secret email account on the House computer system, even though he has been banned from the congressional network because of a criminal investigation into the alleged cybersecurity violations, The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group has learned.

Imran Awan’s still-active email address is linked to the name of a House staffer who specializes in intelligence and homeland security matters for Indiana Democratic Rep. André Carson. Court documents and emails obtained by TheDCNF show Awan used the address 123@mail.house.gov in addition to his standard imran.awan@mail.house.gov account.

He and two of his Pakistani-born brothers, as well as his wife, are at the center of an FBI investigation over their IT work with dozens of Democratic congressional offices. Authorities shut down Awan’s standard email account Feb. 2, and he was arrested by the FBI at Dulles International Airport trying to board a flight to his native Pakistan on July 25.

Authorities apparently did not realize Awan has a second account that is not linked to his identity. While his main email address began rejecting mail after it was shut down, the 123 address was still accepting mail Tuesday.

At this point, I would consider the entire House listing of accounts to be suspect, and shut down the system for 72 hours while sorting out the actual people...their present jobs...and ensure that no other secondary accounts exist.

Someone should 'spoof' the address of Imran Awan
and threaten to nuke Pakistan and Afghanistan
.. and start all over again with a new, purified population !
Then,.. let's see what kind of reception they get in Pakistan ! !

Didn’t the FBI tell us that the American people have no interest in this, so like the Clinton emails they won’t release, they have no interest in furthering the investigation?

“...and ensure that no other secondary accounts exist.”

Considering the access and system permissions he had, I’d shut off the entire system and bring it online again as an entirely new system to ensure no back doors existed. I hope somebody has done this, or whatever would be appropriate to prevent illegal access.

Andre Carson, and several other House Democrats, demanded that their Congressional staff be given top-secret intel.

Outing themselves as co-conspirators of the Pakistan spy operation and theft ring operating within Congressional Democrat Caucus, are the signatories to the letter addressed to the DNC:

Democrat Congressmen

(a) Andre Carson,

(b) Luis Guiterez,

(c) Jim Himes,

(d) Terri Sewell,

(e) Jackie "Jonestown" Speier,

(f) Mike Quigley,

(g) Eric Swalwell, and,

(h) Patrick Murphy.

Some of the named Democrats had a history of attempting to undermine national security. Two Democrats have been linked to an emerging security breach.

I suspect every House account has been compromised. It is time to scrap the entire system and build back one with safeguards to prevent any intrusion by outsiders or insiders with agendas.

MEMO TO THE FBI: looks like we have your man and the MO used for the leak.

FBI Suspects Members of Congress Leaked Grand Jury Indictment to the Awans
True Pundit ^ | 8/22/17 | Investigative Bureau / Posted by Lockbox

FBI agents suspect somebody in Congress tipped off the Awans that they would be indicted and now the criminal cases once-seemingly isolated to a group of rogue Pakistani IT specialists working for Congress suddenly has gotten much larger. And much more troubling. Federal agents said preceding his arrest, Imran Awan acted like a man who was recently tipped off that he would be pinched and moreover, it was no coincidence Awan’s wife was whisked out of the country in March after sidestepping the FBI at Dulles International Airport to flee to Pakistan. “She had cardboard boxes for luggage,” one FBI agent said. “The school didn’t even know she took her kids out.”

Now some FBI veterans believe the couple’s puzzling behavior is explained by even more troubling revelations: Information about the Grand Jury convened to investigate Awan and his wife Hina Alvi for bank fraud and illicit money transfers was likely leaked to the Pakistani couple. Awan and Alvi were both former IT workers hired by Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Additionally, Imran and his wife — along with two brothers — performed IT and computer programming work for at least 18 more Democratic lawmakers in Congress (some say the number could reach 80 Congressmen). But it was Wasserman, the former chairwoman of the DNC, who kept the pair employed despite the booming criminal case. Federal agents said it appears more than likely a leak could have originated from any member of Congress linked to the Awan family.

Federal law enforcement sources believe officials in Congress were tipped off by a subsequent leak in the Justice Department or the hierarchy of the FBI itself. The Grand Jury convened in U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia on Nov. 13, 2016.

Awan and his wife, as well as his two brothers are also targets of an investigation into an alleged procurement scam (and theft ring inside the Democrat Congressional Caucus) where the group is suspected of stealing equipment, Blackberry phones, and hacking House IT systems without permission.

Wasserman Schultz could not be reached for comment.

The lingering question is whether the FBI will be granted permission to investigate Congress for leaks which could implicate the Justice Department or bosses at the FBI. Sources at the Bureau said they have their doubts. Excerpt) Read more at truepundit.com ...

No one will be allowed to investigate any large group of Congressmen. A few individuals may face scrutiny and punishment, but a large group? No chance.

Maybe DWS will take the rap.

Of interest - everyone working for the government is vetted, sometimes poorly, but vetted nevertheless. That is, everyone except the elected members of the House and Senate. When one is elected, there is no vetting. If Putin could get enough votes to get in, he would be in.

I recall many years ago when I was doing LE/Intel work there was an active member of the Maffia in a leadership role in the House. Also, during the Cold War, the Joseph McCarthy years several members were known by Intelligence to be either Communist sympathizers or secretly part of CPUSA. But it was the messenger who received all the attention.

(HAT TIP LUKE ROSIAK) Carson had employed Awan since 2015, and DID NOT immediately fire him after Imram was banned from the House computer network by Capitol Police in February.

Of the 13 House Democrats who employed Awan, only Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Rep. Marcia Fudge — waited longer than Carson to fire him after the red flags emerged, payroll records show.

TheDCNF reporter query got this reply concerning House email addresses: “House email addresses are controlled through the House Information Resources office. Any questions regarding the 123@mail.house.gov address should be directed to that office.”

CARSON IGNORES HOUSE RULES Until last year, email addresses were created by individual offices, but now members have to request HIR to set up new addresses.

Carson’s office is not showing any concern that an indicted IT guy apparently set up a secret email address using the name of his deputy chief of staff, who is also his top intelligence staffer, and that the account is still active. Since the account was still accepting emails as of Tuesday afternoon, it appears Carson’s office has not alerted anyone of the security vulnerability.

A Democratic IT aide, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of job concerns, told TheDCNF that Awan and Carson used to play video games together in Carson’s office, and that he had been teaching Carson a foreign language. Neither claim has been disputed.

Court documents and testimony from others back up Awan’s use of the 123 address.

Carson is the second Muslim in Congress and the first Muslim on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and, more critically, is the ranking member on its Emerging Threats Subcommittee. He is also a member of the Department of Defense Intelligence and Overhead Architecture Subcommittee.

>>>>>>>>The Emerging Threats Subcommittee, of which Carson is a ranking member, is responsible for much of counterterrorism oversight. It is the worst possible place for a man with Carson’s credentials. <<<<<<<<<

Carson had inherited his grandmother’s seat and exploited it to promote a radical Islamist agenda. He has interfaced with a laundry list of Islamist groups from CAIR to ISNA to ICNA to MPAC. Islamists have funded Carson’s career to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars. The Center for Security Policy has put together a dossier of Carson’s connections to the Muslim Brotherhood. The Brotherhood is the parent organization of many key Islamic terror groups posing a threat to our national security including Al Qaeda and Hamas.

Andre Carson shared the stage at a CAIR banquet with Sirraj Wahaj: an unindicted co-conspirator in the World Trade Center bombing who had once declared,” You don’t get involved in politics because it’s the American thing to do. You get involved in politics because politics are a weapon to use in the cause of Islam.” CAIR itself had been named an unindicted co-conspirator in terror finance.

Carson had praised Tariq Ramadan who had been barred from this country for funding Islamic terrorists. And the Muslim politician was a co-sponsor of the Free Syria Act which attempted to aid Islamist Jihadists in Syria linked to the Muslim Brotherhood such as the Free Syrian Army.

The presence of Andre Carson on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Emerging Threats Subcommittee has always been extremely controversial. But this latest breach involving Democrats on this committee and on other key national security committees raises serious questions about the scale and magnitude of the real problem caused by a compromised congress.

While Carson and other HPSCI Democrats had been demanding security clearance for their staffers, three Pakistani Muslims working for them appear to have compromised security to an unknown degree.

Why were the Awan brothers, one of whom had a criminal record, even allowed to work in such a sensitive position? How did the personnel suspected in this case pass background checks? And was any classified information compromised as a result of these alleged breaches?

These questions and more must be asked and answered. But they are only the first of many questions.

When the Democrats are so contemptuous of our national security that they put forward Andre Carson, a politician who has appeared at Islamist events and praised radicals and extremists, to such a sensitive position, it is not surprising that they are equally willing to hire walking security risks.

The most obvious lesson here is that security must be tightened. If Democrats refuse to take their responsibilities seriously, then President Trump must do it for them. Until the Awan case is resolved, those Democrats who employed them must have their access to classified material restricted.

Under no circumstances may the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence members who employed the Awan brothers be permitted to allow their staffers to gain access to classified material.

And Andre Carson must be forced to choose between his Islamist ties and his membership in the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Emerging Threats Subcommittee. No one should be allowed to have a foot in both the pro-terrorist and the counter-terrorist spheres of our society.

Congressional Republicans must take the lead in cleaning house. If they cannot do so, President Trump must step in. At stake are the security of our nation and the safety of our troops. The Democrats may have abandoned their responsibility to our brave men and women, from the battlefield to the VA, but those elected officials who still believe that their sacrifices matter cannot remain silent.

The swamp that allowed Andre Carson and the Awan brothers inappropriate access must be drained.

This is looking like such a mess that if they ever gather up all the Democrats who are implicated in this that there may not be enough left to form a Democrat Party.

How many months now on this case? Phone calls aren’t working. I’m investing in pitchforks and piano wire. There’s gonna be a demand for those commodities in the near future.

Imran and the Awan clan are using the same old tried & true fraudulent schemes as the ones the Clintons used as they began their life of grifting......theft of govt property, selling state secrets, straw man purchases, loan kiting.......and double collateralizing loans on the same properties with Madison Federal S&L, SBA, & Southern Bank Corp.

Looks like Imran got some good tips.
