This is undoubtedly the “black budget” they hide from us.

At first blush, I thought that was a B-58 `Hustler' shown.
One TRILLION dollars!

What’s difference between lowest yield of this and largest conventional MOAB?

The B61-12 will replace the B61 gravity bomb, one of the main pillars of the US Air Forces nuclear arsenal and one part of the so-called air-land-sea triad, which also includes Ohio-class submarines and B-52 strategic bombers. I'm not sure how much stock to place in an article by someone who can't even properly identify the elements of our strategic triad.

The bomb is described as the most dangerous nuclear device ever produced because its yeild can be adjusted between the equivalent of 50,000 tons and 300 tons of TNT.That's 50 KT. Tsar Bomba was 50 MT.

OK, why does adjustable yield make it so dangerous? Dial-a-yield has been standard equipment on several U.S. nuclear weapons for decades.

These are the same thing that are setting in Turkey right now. We have been building these for decades.

For the same reason California thinks that an adjustable stock, flash hider, bayonet lug and pistol grip makes an AR-15 more dealier and scarier.

Even if you tailor the yield to the target, the various nasty side effects beyond blast still occur. Prompt and lingering radiation do not go away with reduced yield.
Not quite the same as using a 250 or 2,000 lb gen purpose bomb.

I as you find this odd. We have had adjustable yield bombs for thirty years. The only thing that could make this weapon more lethal is the ability to deliver with pinpoint accuracy and the distance it could release and still achieve this accuracy.
The closer to target the more ferocious is the defense. If you can release your bomb at greater distance an still hit the target the greater is the chance of success and the pilot returning home.

The bomb is described as the most dangerous nuclear device ever produced because its yeild can be adjusted between the equivalent of 50,000 tons and 300 tons of TNT. It is also more accurate than ever. Perhaps someone should email this highly interesting info to Kim Jong Un (or whomever of his peeps reads things.)

W-53 9 MT
It was a monster weapon. Its 9 megatons was used due to accuracy of the missiles at the time. That monster would take out miles of the enemy target. Today we use much smaller warheads that are multiple warheads in a single missile. They are of about 250 kilotons. These multiple warheads spread out can do far more damage than a single 9 megaton warhead. But I must admit 9 megatons makes a hell of a statement.
